The choice on the set-up with the now very famous spoon rear wing seems to have been positive for Scuderia Ferrari, despite the fact that something still remains to be corrected. The SF21 cars, in fact, suffered from a bit oversteer and even the rear needs to be fixed. The two Ferrari drivers asked for various changes to correct the set-up and improve the handling of the Maranello cars. And apparently, fortunately, these changes have produced the expected results and little by little the Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz ganied “confidence” with the car.
Observing the usual telemetry comparison between the Italian cars, the difference in the high-speed sections becomes apparent. The number 16 expressed higher speed values, a sign that on Charles’s car, as often happens, a configuration with less downforce was tried thanks to the handling characteristics that the Ferrari driver knows how to express.

The confirmation comes in the quick change of direction 7-8-9, where Carlos Sainz manages to bring a higher speed in the corners, unlike his teammate forced to lift his foot from the gas. This approach leads to a gap of about two tenths in T1 in favor of the Spaniard which in fact allows the number 55 to set the best time, considering that in the rest of the lap the times are the same.
After the night study phase at the simulators, the Prancing Horse engineers will try today to refine the set-up of the SF21 cars to find maximum performance ahead of the qualifying session at Jeddah Corniche Circuit. It remains to be understood, and we will find out only in qualifying, the performance delta produced by the power units, a factor on which Ferrari has worked with a new mapping capable of supporting the internal combustion engine, the real protagonist of the Arab weekend.
