Lewis Hamilton once again honored a familiar Suzuka tradition by taking the Ferrari team out for a bowling night, offering a moment of relaxation and team bonding after a challenging qualifying session at the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix.
Ferrari enjoy another bowling night in Suzuka
It has become something of a tradition, and in 2026 it was respected once again. Lewis Hamilton organized a bowling evening for Ferrari, just as he had often done in the past at Suzuka, even during his years with Mercedes. The outing provided a welcome opportunity for the team to unwind in Japan following a qualifying session that sparked discussions and some tension among the drivers.
Moments like these are important during a demanding Formula 1 weekend, especially after a difficult day on track. The relaxed atmosphere away from the paddock allowed drivers and team members to reset mentally ahead of race day.

On track, however, the focus quickly returns. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will start tomorrow’s race from fourth and sixth positions respectively. Ferrari can still rely on its traditionally strong race starts, although Mercedes already showed signs of improvement in this area during the Chinese Grand Prix, suggesting that the advantage may not be as clear as before.
