Hot Wheels and Ferrari are finally reunited: could this partnership extend to Formula 1? The two historic brands have reached an agreement after more than a decade. This news comes just days after the unveiling of the new Hot Wheels x Formula 1 models, which, however, are missing two teams. One is Aston Martin, and the other is none other than the Prancing Horse.
Good news for model car enthusiasts and Hot Wheels collectors. The long-awaited partnership between Mattel and Ferrari has finally been restored. In a surprise announcement at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, the Prancing Horse is set to return to the miniature cars produced by the American company. The first models will arrive as early as spring, although little is known yet about which cars will be reproduced.
“For the Hot Wheels team, this has been an exciting project: offering authentic representations of these iconic Ferrari models to a new generation of car enthusiasts while also creating something special for collectors to appreciate,” said Roberto Stanichi, Executive Vice President of Hot Wheels and head of Vehicles & Building Sets at Mattel. “We can’t wait to see the world’s reaction to our vision of some of the most beautiful works of automotive art in history, created by our expert design team who can replicate them better than anyone else.”
The partnership between F1 and Hot Wheels
Just a few days ago, Hot Wheels revealed models created in collaboration with Formula 1. Sixteen 1:64 scale models depict all the teams on the grid except for Ferrari and Aston Martin. It remains unclear whether the renewed agreement between Mattel and Scuderia Ferrari could lead to the addition of the two SF-24 cars to the lineup of F1 miniature cars.
