Michael Schmidt of German automobile magazine Auto Motor und Sport reports on the current status of the Formula 1 engine discussions (2026):
• A final decision will be made before the Turkish Grand Prix
• V6: below all standardized, above, the cylinder head to be free development.
• MGU-H to be removed
• 350 kW with the electrical system
“If it is solved the way they have thought of it, then yes, because that was the condition. The MGU-H will only be given up if Audi and Porsche come. Both are coming.” – Auto Motor und Sport expert Michael Schmidt explained.
