Summary of Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc’s power unit components ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix which takes place this weekend. Given the fact that the second turbocharger and MGU-H can no longer be used after the issue which led to Charles’ DNF in Spain, the first and third components now have to last a total of ten races each to avoid a 10 place penalty for each.
The Maranello team will most likely attempt to take the 4th MGU-H and turbocharger at the same time with the scheduled 4th ICE, in order to receive all the grid penalties once and start from the back of the grid in only one Grand Prix this season. This would be just a slightly more severe penalty than the planned one-race 10 place grid drop, which Ferrari had already confirmed.
On the other side, Carlos is still in a better situation and if everything goes well for the rest of the season, the Spanish driver should only have to take the planned one-race 10-place grid drop for the 4th ICE.
