Ferrari is trying everything for the Bahrain Grand Prix. First, former president Luca di Montezemolo is there to try and bring some luck to the Prancing Horse after a season start that’s been disappointing compared to expectations. Then, they bring into the paddock a footballer who knows a thing or two about winning — Steven Gerrard. The Liverpool legend was spotted around the circuit throughout the weekend, but for the race, he chose to support the red team.

Ferrari marked his visit to the garage with a post on Instagram, sharing a photo of Steven Gerrard posing in front of Charles Leclerc’s number 16 car. Just a few days earlier, the former midfielder had posted another photo from the Sakhir circuit, following a charity event linked to “Race Against Dementia”, the foundation created by former Formula One driver Jackie Stewart.
He has become a familiar face in the Middle East, where he had his most recent coaching experience with Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia. The Englishman took over the team’s bench in July 2023, before reaching a mutual agreement to part ways this past January.
