After the Belgian GP qualifying, let’s discover the starting grid and any penalties to be served. Rain characterized the entire session, with great uncertainty about the conditions on the track.

In Q1, nothing noteworthy to report. Both Haas cars are out, while there was an impeding by Zhou on Verstappen that will be investigated at the end of qualifying.

In Q2, the track was divided between wet and dry sectors. The rain returned persistently. Max Verstappen dominated the second session as well. An alien this weekend. The three-time world champion was two-tenths faster than Piastri in P2. The Ferraris performed modestly, at least making it into the top 5.

Finally, we reach Q3. The Dutchman confirmed he was in great shape. He is followed by his teammate: perhaps due to the concern of losing his seat, but Sergio Pérez had a good qualifying, initially taking pole.

The surprise, however, comes at the end: Charles Leclerc placed six-tenths behind Max Verstappen, therefore ahead of Sergio Pérez. For the Monegasque, it is the 25th pole of his career. His teammate, Carlos Sainz, performed poorly and will start seventh. The Spaniard made some mistakes and couldn’t deliver.

UPDATE: the impeding by Zhou on Verstappen in Q3 will be investigated at the end of the session.
