With just a few days left until the highly anticipated Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix, the newly refurbished Monza is ready to welcome fans after the modernization works were completed only a few weeks ago. For the occasion, Trenord will once again provide additional trains and special tickets to reach the Monza Circuit during the weekend. Given the success of last year’s edition, with 25,000 additional tickets sold, the Milanese company intends to repeat the experiment to facilitate travel both from Milan and from across Lombardy.
“On Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1, eight special runs will be made between Milano Centrale and Monza,” according to the statement. On race day, “connections between Milano Porta Garibaldi and Biassono Lesmo Parco will also be strengthened with 21 additional runs, without intermediate stops. These enhancements will be added to the trips to and from Monza and Biassono already scheduled.”
Departure from Milan
For those departing from Milan stations, Trenord will offer the “Monza Autodromo train+bus,” which includes “a round-trip train journey from any Milan station to Monza and, from there, the shuttle bus route on the Black Line to Gate G of the Autodromo,” all for a cost of 10 euros.
Departure from the rest of Lombardy
For those departing from towns outside of Milan, the “Trenord Day Pass GP Monza 2024” ticket will be available. At a cost of 13 euros, it includes “a round-trip train journey from any station to Monza or Biassono-Lesmo.” Additionally, children under 14 can travel for free if accompanied by a ticket holder.
The trains and routes
“On Saturday the 31st and Sunday the 1st, eight special runs – four in each direction – will be made between Milano Centrale and Monza,” the statement continues. “It will be possible to travel on the additional trains with the special ‘Train+bus’ and ‘Trenord Day Pass’ tickets, as well as with valid train tickets and passes for Monza.”
Regarding Sunday specifically, “21 special runs – 12 in the morning, 9 in the afternoon for the return – will be made between Milano Porta Garibaldi and Biassono-Lesmo Parco.”
Finally, it will also be possible to reach the circuit via the “S7 Milano-Molteno-Lecco, S8 Milano-Carnate-Lecco, S11 Milano-Como-Chiasso, S9 Saronno-Milano Lambrate, Milano-Carnate-Ponte San Pietro, Milano-Lecco-Colico” lines.
