“Simone Resta going back to Ferrari as new technical director” – Carlo Vanzini. "Simone Resta going back to Ferrari as new technical director".

Skysport F1 HD commentator and editorial manager Carlo Vanzini confirmed that Frederic Vasseur will replace Mattia Binotto as the new team principal of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team and added that the Italian side will most likely make the official announcement in the next two weeks, before Christmas. The Swiss-born Italian will officially leave on December 31 after overseeing a poor 2022 Formula 1 season. Charles Leclerc initially threatened to challenge Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for the world Drivers’ Championship this year, but the Monegasque driver fell away due to a string of team errors and reliability issues.

At the same time, Sky Italia commentator Carlo Vanzini pointed out that “probably Simone Resta is going back to Ferrari as the new technical director.”

“There will be a different hierarchy inside the team, roles that will be clear. Ravin will have more power regarding the strategies. The race engineers will have more responsibilities. We know Ricciardo Adami, who is very experienced, while Charles’s engineer, Xavi, who is younger, will have more responsibilities, he will not only be a messenger between the remote garage and the driver.| – the Sky Italia commentator explained.
