Ferrari president and CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Sergio Marchionne said that he is pleased with the fact that the Maranello team is now “feared” once again by Mercedes, its mail rival and top Formula One competitor. After a decade-long wait to win the F1 title, Scuderia Ferrari is now confident in the possibility of fighting for victory, as German driver Sebastian Vettel is currently leading F1 the world championship after the opening four rounds of the 2017 season, ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, which will take place next weekend in Barcelona, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Ferrari president is quoted by Italian media, including La Repubblica newspaper, as saying: “We have made significant progress this year and I am very pleased with what we have seen so far. Some would call our recovery miraculous compared to the situation in 2016. Ferrari is competitive once again and feared by our adversaries in Stuttgart.” – president Sergio Marchionne concluded, clearly referring to Mercedes, as reported by the Italian newspaper on Saturday.
