Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel insists the Maranello team is well placed to challenge Mercedes and return to the top of Formula One this season. The four-time world champion endured a difficult second half of the 2018 campaign, powerless to prevent long-time rival Lewis Hamilton sweeping to glory.
In response, Scuderia Ferrari have recruited 21-year-old Charles Leclerc to partner Vettel this season and hired a new team principal in Mattia Binotto: “I think people can start to sense things are different” – Sebastian Vettel told Sky Sports at the unveiling of Ferrari’s new SF90 car.
“The atmosphere is good, and I think things are moving in the right way. Mattia is in charge of the team but it’s not one person alone that is running a team, we have a lot of people working to build these two cars. For me it is an honour to drive one of them and we will do our upmost to make sure we finish as high up as we can. ‘I think the team is on the right path and hopefully we can continue improving.” – the Scuderia Ferrari German driver concluded.
