Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel was interviewed by RTL ahead of the 2020 British Grand Prix which will take place this weekend at Silverstone. Sebastian admitted that the Maranello team will not have any new upgrades for the first race at the Silverstone Circuit and that the SF1000 car will basically have the same configuration as the one used in Hungary, just with a different rear wing. He said that if they got lapped in Hungary, it won’t be any better this weekend.
At the same time, Sebastian Vettel confirmed that he is in “no rush” to make a decision over his Formula 1 future and is keen to ensure it is the “right” call for himself. The four-times world champion is leaving Ferrari at the end of the season after the Italian outfit opted not to renew his contract for 2021. Seb is currently without a drive for next year but has been linked with a switch to Racing Point when it completes its Aston Martin rebrand.
Asked if there is any update on his future ahead of this weekend’s British grand Prix, Vettel replied: “I have no answer. I would give you an answer if I really knew but at the moment I don’t and I think it’s probably realistic to be patient and wait a little bit. That could be a couple of weeks, that could be longer than that. Time will tell. Nothing has changed to what I mentioned in the last three weeks or prior three races. I’m not in a rush, I want to make sure that I make the right decision for myself and then take it from there. I have made it clear, given the right package, I have a lot more to give…it depends on what the options are.”- he concluded.
