Robert Shwartzman, Robert Kubica and Yifei Ye to share third Ferrari hypercar in WEC. Robert Shwartzman Confirmed As Completing Crew For #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P.

Ferrari Driver Academy member Shwartzman is set to join Yifei Ye and Robert Kubica as part of the driver lineup for the privately entered #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P throughout the entire 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship.

The third 499P will participate in the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams, competing alongside the Hertz Team Jota Porsches and Proton Competition’s Porsche 963.

The official confirmation of Robert Shwartzman’s role comes shortly after the Maranello team announced that the driver lineups for their two factory-entered Ferrari AF Corse 499Ps will remain unchanged from 2023. The #50 car will be driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Niklas Nielsen, while the #51 will feature the winning trio from the 2023 Le Mans, Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi.

For 23-year-old Yifei Ye, this season marks his second in Hypercar after an impressive performance with the Jota-run Porsche last year.

As for 24-year-old Robert Shwartzman, who participated in last year’s GT World Challenge Europe, he will make his Hypercar racing debut following his outstanding performance in the 499P during the rookie tests in Bahrain in November 2023. Robert Shwartzman will also continue as a reserve driver for Scuderia Ferrari in F1.
