Home » Revised starting grid for the 2022 Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix at Red Bull Ring

Revised starting grid for the 2022 Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix at Red Bull Ring. Revised starting grid for the 2022 Formula 1 Austrian GP.

Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen will start from P1 in the Austrian Grand Prix later today after his comfortable win in Saturday’s Sprint event at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.

The Dutchman took pole position on Friday and was able to keep the lead after the Sprint race start, despite being challenged from behind by the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. After an early battle with his Maranello teammate Carlos Sainz, it was Charles Leclerc who took second place, meaning that he will line up P2 for Sunday’s Grand Prix, with Carlos Sainz in third.

George Russell starts from fourth, while Sergio Perez sits fifth in the other Red Bull car after making progress through the field in the Sprint. Despite finishing the Sprint in 10th, Valtteri Bottas will line up at the back of the grid for Sunday’s race due to taking an engine penalty.

The starting grid below is provisional until confirmed by Formula 1’s governing body, the FIA.
