Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz has escaped with a reprimand after an incident in the pit lane with Alpine’s Fernando Alonso during the final free practice session for the Bahrain Grand Prix earlier today. The Ferrari driver therefore enters qualifying without the threat of a penalty hanging over his shoulders.
The stewards clarified that the reprimand will not be classified as a ‘driving infringement’:
