Just one race remains until the summer break, as Formula 1 now heads to the Hungaroring racetrack in Budapest for the 13th round of the 2022 Formula 1 season, in which Ferrari and Red Bull will once fight for the race win, bar any surprises.
Upon returning from the summer break, the last three European races of the season are scheduled to take place, with Monza being the last of the triple-header, alongside Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Circuit Zandvoort. Despite the fact that the current Drivers and Constructors standings are not offering too many reasons to be confident about Ferrari’s goal of challenging for both titles, the competitiveness and speed of the SF-75 car have given some new hope to the Ferrari fans, after two less than exciting seasons.
And the fans intend to show their affection for the Maranello team precisely at the Monza appointment, which will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the historic racetrack, home of the Italian Grand Prix, by attending the event in large numbers.
Angelo Sticchi Damiani, the president of the ACI Federation – Automobile Club d’Italia, recently confirmed the record presale for the Italian race: “The numbers are exceptional, an extremely positive fact. We are already heading towards 320,000 fans over the weekend, such numbers have never been recorded. In 2019 we were just over 200,000. There is great enthusiasm for Ferrari and for the racetrack which marks its 100 year anniversary. There is a great passion in Italy for racing, after two years in which fans did not have the possibility to attend. The chance of returning to the stands created the desire to be there. For Sunday we expect between 110 and 120 thousand, a record. We are building temporary stands to try to fully satisfy demand and reach an even greater number of spectators” – the Italian executive explained in an interview for Radio Rai.
