Qatar is entering the final stages of preparation for an unusually busy November at Lusail International Circuit, where MotoGP and Formula 1 will hold separate Grand Prix weekends just three weeks apart. The MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix is scheduled for 6–8 November 2026, followed by the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix on 27–29 November, with organisers planning extensive entertainment and interactive activities alongside both events.
The two weekends will bring international motorsport audiences to the circuit near Doha within the same month, creating a significant organisational challenge. Beyond preparing the venue for the different requirements of motorcycle and Formula 1 racing, Lusail is developing a programme intended to attract dedicated motorsport supporters, families and visitors seeking activities away from the track.
In an official statement issued on 21 October, circuit organisers outlined their progress and confirmed that preparations were approaching completion. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Muhannadi, CEO of Lusail International Circuit, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming international visitors to two major motorsport events within such a short period, emphasising that operational teams were working to ensure the venue would be fully prepared and deliver the high standards expected each year.
Qatar enters final preparations for F1 and MotoGP at Lusail
Work across Lusail International Circuit has reached its final phase, with attention focused on spectator facilities, grandstands and hospitality areas. Operational teams are completing the arrangements needed to accommodate visitors arriving from Qatar and overseas for both Grand Prix weekends.
The scheduling places particular demands on the venue. MotoGP will arrive first, with its race weekend running from 6 to 8 November. Formula 1 then takes over later in the month, with the 2026 Formula 1 calendar placing the Qatar Grand Prix on the final weekend of November.
Al-Muhannadi explained that the circuit was looking forward to welcoming international motorsport back to Qatar for two of the calendar’s anticipated events. He indicated that preparations were nearly finished and that the remaining work was concentrated on ensuring every part of the venue could offer spectators an enjoyable experience.
Organisers are also preparing entertainment programmes designed to make both weekends attractive to a broader audience, with opportunities for visitors to participate in activities beyond watching the racing.
Formula 1 Qatar GP 2026 to feature Fan Forum and interactive activities
The Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix weekend, scheduled for 27–29 November, will feature a programme of fan engagement activities alongside the on-track sessions. One of the main attractions will be the Fan Forum, giving spectators an opportunity to get closer to Formula 1 personalities and hear them speak.
The entertainment programme will include live music, DJ performances and interactive experiences throughout the event. Visitors will be able to try driving simulators, arcade games and obstacle courses, while a miniature racing circuit will provide another activity for those attending the Grand Prix.
Families are a particular focus of the organisers’ plans. Children will have access to creative workshops and educational activities exploring car design and the basic principles of aerodynamics. These sessions are intended to combine entertainment with opportunities to learn more about the engineering ideas associated with motorsport.
Sustainability will also form part of the programme. Planned initiatives include artistic installations created using recycled materials and themed workshops, expanding the range of activities available outside the sporting competition.
For spectators following the championship’s closing rounds, the Qatar Grand Prix forms part of the final stretch of the 2026 Formula 1 season, with Lusail hosting the championship after Las Vegas and before the Abu Dhabi finale.
MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix brings rider appearances to the Fan Zone
MotoGP will begin Lusail’s November programme, with the championship visiting the circuit from 6 to 8 November. Organisers have prepared a series of activities aimed at bringing spectators closer to motorcycle racing and its competitors.
Among the main attractions will be special rider appearances on the Fan Zone stage. Supporters will have opportunities to see riders at close range and listen to them speak, adding an interactive element to the race weekend.
Music performances and DJ sets will provide further entertainment away from the track, while the wider visitor programme will include activities designed for different age groups.
Both the Formula 1 and MotoGP weekends will feature children’s activities, dedicated photo areas, a variety of food options and charging facilities for electronic devices. The shared approach is intended to provide a more complete experience for visitors regardless of which championship they attend.
Lusail places spectator experience at the centre of its plans
Abdulaziz Ali Al-Muhannadi has emphasised that the spectator experience remains a central consideration whenever Lusail International Circuit prepares to host an international event.
The circuit’s CEO explained that organisers continually work to provide an experience that appeals to different types of visitors, from committed motorsport followers to families interested in spending time together. He linked that approach to Lusail’s wider commitment to hospitality and maintaining high organisational standards.
This emphasis is reflected in the combination of cultural activities, entertainment, interactive experiences and educational programmes planned for November. Rather than limiting the attraction of the two weekends to the racing itself, organisers want the events to appeal to people who may not regularly follow Formula 1 or MotoGP.
Hosting two Grands Prix in three weeks presents a major challenge
While the entertainment programmes will be an important part of the spectator experience, the most demanding aspect of November may be the transition between two international racing championships.
Formula 1 and MotoGP have different requirements for their operational areas, paddock arrangements and infrastructure. Preparing Lusail for both competitions within three weeks requires careful coordination, particularly as the venue must maintain the standards expected by each championship.
After the motorcycle Grand Prix concludes on 8 November, the circuit will have a relatively limited period to prepare for the arrival of Formula 1. The successive events therefore represent more than simply hosting two separate race weekends at the same location.
Both competitions will attract international attention and visitors, placing additional importance on the organisation of spectator facilities, hospitality areas and the wider venue.
The Formula 1 round on 27–29 November will bring this concentrated period of activity to a close. Fans planning to attend can also consult the Formula 1 Grand Prix ticket information for the remaining events of the 2026 season.
With MotoGP arriving in early November and Formula 1 following towards the end of the month, Lusail is preparing to become a major centre of international motorsport activity throughout November. Organisers have encouraged spectators to follow the circuit’s official communication channels for further announcements about the entertainment programmes and ticket information.
