The 2025 Formula 1 championship is approaching
While waiting to see what Ferrari will look like after the summer break, attention is obviously always focused on the 2025 Formula 1 season, when the already dubbed deal of the century will materialize, with Lewis Hamilton saying goodbye to Mercedes at the end of the current championship after eleven years of great successes to fulfill the dream of a career and try to establish himself as the greatest driver of all time by winning the eighth title with Scuderia Ferrari.
President John Elkann also spoke about the future partnership between Lewis Hamilton and the Italian side. The number one of the Prancing Horse, attending the inauguration of Casa Italia for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, stated: “Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari have finally found each other. He certainly doesn’t come to us to enjoy retirement; he wants to be at the top.”
“For me, he is one of the greats in sports – Federer, Hamilton, Ronaldo, Messi; they all share the longevity of their commitment to high-level sport and an enormous effort of will to maintain good physical shape.” – the Ferrari president continued.
Finally, John Elkann explained how the experience of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion could prove useful to the Prancing Horse’s cause: “This year we are already experiencing a fabulous competition in Formula 1, with four teams almost on par, which makes everything more interesting. Red Bull started the season very strongly, then Ferrari, McLaren, and more recently Mercedes have made up ground. The championship is completely open, with exceptional drivers.” – he added.
“What is more important than ever in this multidisciplinary competition is to make the most of your opportunities in every race. Those who can bring more experience, like Hamilton or Alonso, will drive more consistently at the highest levels. That’s what ultimately makes the difference.” – John Elkann concluded.
