The Sochi circuit, located in the Black Sea resort of the same name, is the first purpose-built Formula One facility in Russia and hosted the country’s inaugural Grand Prix in 2014. Located within Sochi’s impressive Olympic Park facility and winding its way around many of the architecturally eye-catching venues that were built for the Games, the 5.848-kilometre circuit provides a fresh challenge to teams and drivers alike.
Despite the fact that Mercedes has managed to win every race in Russia since 2014, Scuderia Ferrari has scored two pole possitions at Sochi Autodrom and several podium finishes, although this season it will be very difficult for the Italian side to challenge for a top three finish in normal conditions.
Follow us for the latest info, news, updates and live results from the Sochi Autodrom, as the first practice session for the 2021 Russian Grand Prix is about to get underway, with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc at the wheel of the Maranello team’s SF21 car, ready to start evaluating the tyres and identify the best set-up ahead of qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday.
