Pirelli reveals tyre picks for the 2018 Austrian Grand Prix. The same three tyre compounds were used at the opening two races of the season in Australia and Bahrain.

Official tyre supplier Pirelli will bring the exact same Formula One tyre compound selections as last year for July’s Austrian Grand Prix. The Italian Formula One tyre manufacturer has decided to nominate the Ultrasoft, Supersoft and Soft tyres as the available compounds for the race which takes place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.

Pirelli made the same tyre picks for last year’s race – won by Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas – although it has taken its compounds a step softer for this season after introducing two new slick compounds in a bid to shake-up race strategies in the current season.

The same three tyre compounds were used at the opening two races of the season in Australia and Bahrain, while they have also been nominated for the returning French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard in June.
