Formula One official tyre supplier Pirelli has confirmed the compounds that it has allocated for the Mexican Grand Prix later this year. Pirelli has a reduced range of five dry-weather compounds for 2019 and has changed the naming system, running from C1 (hardest) to C5 (softest).
It has nominated the middle trio of compounds – the C2s, C3s and C4s – in order to deal with the challenges posed by the high-altitude Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. It is by far the most common choice made by the company, with Mexico set to be the 10th grand prix at which the C2s, C3s and C4s will be available. As usual teams are allocated one set of each compound by Pirelli and will then have free choice of compound for 10 of their remaining 13 sets.
Pirelli is bringing the following compounds to the 2019 Mexican Grand Prix (October, 25-27)
