Formula 1 is preparing for this weekend’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone, but Pirelli is already looking ahead. The Italian tyre manufacturer has officially confirmed the tyre compounds that will be used for the following two rounds of the 2026 season: the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps and the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring.
Below is a summary of all the tyre selections Pirelli has made so far during the 2026 Formula 1 season.
Pirelli confirms tyre choices for Belgium and Hungary
For the Belgian Grand Prix, scheduled for July 17-19 at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Pirelli has selected the three middle compounds from its range: C2, C3 and C4.
The decision reflects the demanding nature of the Belgian circuit, one of the most iconic and popular venues on the Formula 1 calendar. Spa places enormous stress on the tyres and, in terms of the loads generated, is second only to Silverstone and Suzuka.
For the Hungarian Grand Prix, which will take place from July 24-26 before Formula 1’s summer break, Pirelli has instead opted for the softest trio available: C3, C4 and C5.
Although the Hungaroring is not as demanding on tyres as Spa-Francorchamps, tyre degradation should not be underestimated. The race is traditionally held in very high temperatures around Budapest, making tyre management a key factor throughout the weekend.
