During the last two Formula One seasons, with two races to go until the end of the current one, Scuderia Ferrari has not yet managed to take any race win: specifically, with the exception of two pole positions scored by Charles Leclerc in Monaco and Baku in 2021, the Monegasque himself had given the Scuderia’s latest successes in 2019, with race wins taken consecutively in Belgium and Italy. While in Spa-Francorchamps he had achieved the first success of his career – without however allowing himself to many celebrations due to the death of his friend Anthoine Hubert, who died the day before in Formula 2 following a serious accident – in Monza the then 22 year old had become the hero of the Prancing Horse fans, triumphing in front of the Tifosi at Monza at the end of an exciting fight with Lewis Hamilton.

Then, after Sebastian Vettel’s success in Singapore – again in 2019 – Ferrari no longer climbed on the top step of the podium, as the Maranello team is still waiting for the next victory. A real crisis of results that the Italian side hopes to end in 2022, with the new technical regulations that will be implemented next season. Regardless of what happens, Charles Leclerc himself continues to enjoy the support and more than positive consideration of his team, starting with vice-president Piero Ferrari.
The son of Enzo, historical founder of the Modenese car manufacturer, in fact expressed a brief but significant consideration on the Monegasque driver in a recent interview for GP Racing: “Charles would have liked my father very much – he said – he is an intelligent person with an incredible talent from every point of view, and is very focused. If we give him the right car, I’m sure he will give us a lot of satisfaction”. – Piero Ferrari said.
