Ferrari has officially entered a new era with the presentation of the Ferrari Luce, the first fully electric road car ever produced by the Maranello manufacturer. Ferrari chairman John Elkann personally introduced the revolutionary new model to Italian President Sergio Mattarella, marking a historic milestone for the legendary Italian brand.
The unveiling of the Ferrari Luce represents one of the most significant moments in the modern history of the company, as Ferrari embraces electrification while attempting to preserve the identity and emotion that have defined the Prancing Horse for decades.

Speaking about the new project, John Elkann described Ferrari Luce as a bold step toward the future while remaining faithful to Ferrari’s DNA.
“It is a car of the future, and uniquely Ferrari. Luce reaffirms what has always distinguished this company: the courage to redefine the limits of what is possible,” said the Ferrari chairman.

The project reportedly required a completely fresh creative approach, both in terms of technology and design language. Ferrari collaborated closely with LoveFrom, the design collective founded by former Apple chief designer Jony Ive, to shape the identity of the new electric model.
According to John Elkann, the partnership between Maranello and San Francisco played a key role in creating a vehicle capable of blending innovation with Ferrari tradition.
“Ferrari Luce required a new creative perspective. And that is exactly what LoveFrom brought. Working together between Maranello and San Francisco, on a new design language defined by purity, we created a car that looks confidently toward the future,” Elkann explained.

The Ferrari Luce immediately stands out thanks to its futuristic styling, minimalist surfaces and aerodynamic proportions, while still retaining several signature Ferrari elements that connect the car to the brand’s rich heritage.
The unveiling has already generated enormous discussion among Ferrari fans and the wider automotive world, as many observers are eager to discover how the Italian manufacturer plans to balance electrification with the emotional driving experience traditionally associated with Ferrari models.

Ferrari has repeatedly stated in recent years that its transition toward electric mobility would not compromise the company’s philosophy. The Ferrari Luce therefore carries enormous expectations, not only from a technological perspective, but also in terms of performance, sound design and driving sensation.
The car also symbolizes Ferrari’s ambition to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape, where electrification is becoming increasingly central across the entire industry.

While technical specifications have not yet been fully revealed, Ferrari insiders believe the Luce project could become one of the defining models of the next generation for the company.
The arrival of Ferrari’s first electric vehicle is also expected to influence the future direction of supercar design and technology, especially as rival manufacturers continue accelerating their own EV development programs.

For Ferrari, the Luce is far more than simply another new model. It represents the beginning of a completely new chapter for Maranello, one that combines innovation, sustainability and cutting-edge engineering while attempting to preserve the spirit that has made Ferrari one of the most iconic automotive brands in history.
