Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc is widely regarded as one of the most talented drivers currently on the Formula 1 grid, especially thanks to his ability and speed in qualifying and single lap performance.
However, the Ferrari man had a disappointing Grand Prix in Miami, which hosted the latest round of the 2023 Formula 1 championship, first due to a mistake he made on Saturday, and then because of the poor race pace of his SF-23 single-seater, which didn’t allow him to make a comeback on Sunday at the Miami International Autodrome in Florida.
Former Spanish driver Pedro De La Rosa, however, praised the Monegasque despite the difficulties he had during the Miami weekend, also suggesting to Charles to continue pushing to the limit, because that’s what makes him such a performing driver. Here are his comments:
De La Rosa’s words on Charles Leclerc
Pedro De La Rosa admitted that despite Scuderia Ferrari’s obvious difficulties, Charles Leclerc’s qualities still shine and are evident in his attempt to chase the performances of his rivals. The Spaniard on the F1 Nation podcast said: “There are very few fast drivers like Charles and in qualifying he gives it his all. I think he’s never afraid of anything. I admire him a lot because he’s really brave and every time he makes a mistake, he doesn’t slow down on the next lap and he tries again.” – he added.

The former driver then concluded his analysis pointing out that “he doesn’t need to do a slow lap to recover. That’s why he can drive the Ferrari so well.”
Charles Leclerc is currently only seventh in the 2023 drivers championship championship after five races, and hopes to bounce back in the standings in the Ferrari’s home Grand Prix at the Imola circuit in a week’s time.
