Oliver Bearman is preparing to tackle his second full season in Formula 1 with Haas. However, 2025 does not represent his absolute debut in the pinnacle of motorsport. Back in 2024, the British driver had already made a headline-grabbing appearance with Ferrari, stepping in to replace Carlos Sainz Jr. for a Grand Prix weekend.
In a recent interview, Bearman spoke openly about his present with Haas, his long-term ambitions and the persistent speculation linking him to a potential return to the Scuderia. For one of the most promising young drivers on the F1 grid, the balance between immediate objectives and future dreams is a delicate but motivating one.
Future in red?
Throughout 2025, Oliver Bearman has frequently been linked with Ferrari in the driver market rumor mill. Appearing on the High Performance podcast, the Haas driver stressed that his “focus is on the current project” and that he refuses to be distracted by speculation. His priority remains the present season, especially with the major challenge posed by the introduction of new technical regulations.
Despite emphasizing his commitment to Haas, Bearman did not hide his long-term dream of one day returning to wear Ferrari red. The British driver admitted: “Yes, absolutely. They showed faith in me, first by giving me their car two years ago, and they believed in me from my very first steps. I was in Formula 4 when they signed me. They invested a lot in me. My dream is to put the red suit back on and drive a Ferrari one day, but I also think this year is a great opportunity with Haas and the new rules. I feel we can do a lot.”
His words underline the strong emotional and professional connection that still ties him to the Maranello-based team. Ferrari’s investment in his development began early in his junior career, and that pathway remains a significant reference point in his trajectory toward becoming a top-level Formula 1 contender.
During last season, the dialogue between Bearman and Ferrari never truly stopped, particularly to assess his progress throughout his first full campaign in Formula 1. The Haas driver confirmed: “Yes, the dialogue has remained very open throughout the year and it will continue to be as long as I am affiliated with Ferrari.”
For now, Bearman’s immediate challenge lies with Haas, as the American team aims to capitalize on regulatory changes and close the gap to the midfield front-runners. Yet the long-term narrative is clear: if performances align with expectations, the path back to Ferrari could eventually move from speculation to reality. In Formula 1, talent, timing and opportunity must converge—and Bearman appears determined to be ready when that moment comes.
