The 2025 Formula 1 season marks a generational shift: never since 2001 have there been so many rookies on the grid, with six debutants and 40% of the drivers born after 2000. Young talents like Kimi Antonelli, Oliver Bearman, and Jack Doohan are ready to shake up the championship. It was the Englishman at Haas that his fellow countryman and now commentator David Coulthard chose to speak about while commenting on the Saudi Arabian GP on Channel 4.
“I believe Oliver Bearman has clearly shown an ability to build on what he achieved in the previous season. For Liam, the situation is undoubtedly challenging: he needs to regain confidence and stay ahead of Isack Hadjar, another rookie who, in my opinion, has exceeded initial expectations. Gabriel Bortoleto: it’s tough for him—he has to outperform Nico Hülkenberg, a reliable and particularly fast driver—but that’s what’s expected if he wants to continue his career in this field.” – the former Formula 1 driver pointed out regarding the Ferrari Driver Academy member following the race which was held at the 6.174-kilometre Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia.
