The sale of tickets for Formula 1 Heineken Italian Grand Prix 2021 has started today, as the event will take place at the Monza racetrack on 12 September. The circuit will be able to accommodate a number of fans reduced by 50 percent compared to the past and only spectators which have the European Green pass during the race weekend from 10 to 12 September, respecting all the regulations in force relating to Covid-19 including those concerning the distancing rules. The event, which marks a partial return to normality for all motorsport fans after more than a year of activity behind closed doors for the public, takes place exactly one hundred years after the first Italian Grand Prix of 1921 in Montichiari (Brescia).
Therefore, only those in possession of the Green pass will be able to enter the Monza racetrack. The “passport” will allow the Autodrome to welcome the public for all three days of the weekend, with a number of tickets on sale that will be equal to less than 50 percent of the maximum occupancy available. The audience will consist of vaccinated people, recovered from Covid-19 or that have a negative molecular or antigen test result. Fans can be Italian or come from all countries for which travelling to Italy is authorized according to the directives of the Ministry of the Interior.
For the fans that have the so-called “Eu digital Covid certificate” there will be available for online sale a selection of stands on the circuit for a single day. It will also be possible to book a “Weekend ticket” which will allow the fans to access the circuit Friday, Saturday and Sunday at a promotional price. In the event that subsequent government measures authorize a greater number of spectators at the circuit, the numbers of seats assigned at the time of purchase could be changed as a result of a reduction.
It will not be possible to buy the tickets at the gates of the circuit, but only in advance through the official online channels. To access the event it will be necessary to complete a check-in procedure similar to that adopted for air flights that will allow a tracking of spectators for the protection of their health.
The definition of ticket prices for the Italian Grand Prix takes into account the reduction in seat capacity imposed by current legislation and the introduction of the new Sprint qualifying concept. The new format, which will decide the grid of the GP on Sunday, provides for a fast and spectacular race of about 100 km with all the cars on the track. The activity will be preceded by one hour of free practice on Saturday morning. On Sunday the standard race program will remain unchanged with the start of the Italian GP at 15 local hours.
In case the event will take place behind closed doors or it will be necessary to reduce the number of places available due to change in legislation linked to the epidemiological situation, tickets will be refunded for the full value of the price, according to an order of priority based on the purchase date.
