Formula 1 has officially confirmed that the sport will continue to race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria until at least the 2027 season, following a new four-year deal that was signed with the Austrian event organizer.

The Austrian Grand Prix has been back on the FIA Formula 1 World Championship for almost a decade and since then the Red Bull Ring has welcomed millions of fans: more 300,000 supporters attended the event last year, as Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc won the race after overtaking Max Verstappen three times.

The final F1 event based on the ongoing deal was is set to be held on 30 June – 02 July 2023 and will mark the 10th anniversary of the Austrian Grand Prix’s return to the F1 calendar. This year, the Austrian Grand Prix will take placed based on the F1 Sprint format, just like in the previous season.

And fans can now look forward to at least four more races at the Red Bull Ring, following the official confirmation of the contract extension.

Former Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali, currently the President and CEO of Formula 1, said: “The Austrian Grand Prix brings together the perfect mix of a challenging track, high-speed racing, and a beautiful venue for our fans, so I am delighted that we will be coming back to the Red Bull Ring until at least 2027 under this new agreement.
