On the day of Carlos Sainz’s debut filming day with Williams, a former Ferrari sponsor parted ways with the Scuderia to join the Spaniard in his new adventure.
The end of the partnership between this brand and the Italian team had already been announced months ago, and its next destination now appears official.
Williams Racing has secured a new multi-year partnership with Santander, effective from 2025. The Spanish bank, one of the global leaders with 171 million customers worldwide, will join the team and is already an official partner of Formula 1 starting next year.
“Santander has chosen Williams as a global platform to connect with customers, offering exclusive experiences with paddock access and driver events, and to enhance brand visibility, especially in the United States, where three F1 races will be held, and the team will promote Santander’s Openbank brand,” the Williams statement reads.
“The Santander or Openbank brand will feature on the FW47, the drivers’ helmets, and the team uniforms throughout 2025,” the note continues.
A Growing Williams
“Williams Racing is proud to add Santander to our growing list of iconic and innovative partners for 2025 and beyond,” said James Vowles, Team Principal of Williams Racing.
“Joining forces with a global banking giant trusted by tens of millions worldwide is another significant step in our transformation. We look forward to working with Santander to engage and excite fans in the years ahead.”

To celebrate the partnership announcement, the Santander logo will appear on the FW46 during this week’s post-season tests in Abu Dhabi. After Monday’s filming day, Carlos Sainz will get back behind the wheel on Tuesday.
The Grove team continues to expand. It recently renewed collaborations with Duracell, Gulf Oil International, and Kraken.
Juan Manuel Cendoya, Global Head of Communications, Corporate Marketing, and Research at Santander and Vice President of Santander Spain, stated: “We are delighted to collaborate with Williams Racing in a strategic agreement that allows us to continue offering exclusive experiences to our customers and to continue supporting Carlos Sainz in this new phase.”
