Italian blogger Leo Turrini, who is famously very close to proceedings at Ferrari, reflects on Mick Schumacher and his target for the 2021 F1 season, in a recent post published on his quotidiano.net blog:
“Come on Mick.
And courage.
Last September, I met my friend Steiner, the head of Haas.
We were in Monza and it was already known that in all probability Schumi 2 would make his debut in Formula One with the American Ferrari-powered team.
Steiner knows about racing and doesn’t like hypocrisy.
He told me: for us 2021 will be a terrible year, we will go on the track thinking only of 2022 and who will drive our car will be simply asked to do kilometers and accumulate experience.
So, dear Mick, come on.
Those of my generation were happily used to a Schumacher who always raced to finish first.
Now it will be inevitable to adapt to the idea of a Schumacher called to race to avoid finishing last.
I love this boy, but so much! For reasons that I don’t even have to explain.
I will wait for him.
For now, just beat Mazepin.”
