Hamilton’s reaction after Q1 elimination
Back in the garage, Lewis Hamilton spoke to the media, visibly frustrated. “I don’t know what happened. I have no words and I wouldn’t know how to express what’s going through my head. Definitely a lot of anger. There’s nothing more to add,” he said after finishing sixteenth in the final qualifying of the year.
Earlier, over the team radio at the end of Q1, Lewis Hamilton had already admitted his confusion. “I’m speechless. I wouldn’t know what else to try,” he told his race engineer, Riccardo Adami, underlining the ongoing challenges he has faced throughout the season in the Ferrari SF-25.
This latest setback continues a difficult run for Lewis Hamilton, marking his third consecutive elimination in Q1, following similar struggles in Las Vegas and Qatar. As the 2025 season comes to a close, the British driver will once again have to fight through the field in what has been the toughest campaign of his illustrious career.
Starting 16th on a track where overtaking is notoriously difficult, a points finish on Sunday now looks a tall order. For Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari both, the sooner this season is in the rear-view mirror the better.
