Most Formula 1 drivers accepted to take part in the Netflix ‘fly-on-the-wall’ documentaries, but 2021 F1 World Champion Max Verstappen chose not to be involved and pulled out of the personal interview material due to the fact that he considered the popular series to have faked rivalries and tensions which simply were not true or blown out of proportion.
When the series began, both Mercedes and Ferrari opted not to open their doors to Netflix, but the success – particularly in the USA had them making an about-turn on the matter.
