One of the big questions left in the 2022 Formula 1 season is who will finish second in the Constructors’ Championship behind Red Bull: Mercedes or Scuderia Ferrari?
Ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, better known as Interlagos, in the city of Sao Paulo, the Maranello team still has a 40-point advantage in the Constructors’ standings ahead if its rival.
Rwandan and Belgian racing driver and television presenter Naomi Schiff, in a discussion for Sky Sports F1 ahead of the qualifying session for the Brazilian Sprint race, shared her thoughts on the matter and pointed out that the battle is currently very much in Scuderia Ferrari’s hands:
“I think they (Mercedes) have to believe it,” said Naomi Schiff, as reported by Sky Sports F1 – “I think they have been doing a good job in the last few races to narrow that gap down. The question for Ferrari is whether they can stay on top of everything they have going on in their camp to stay ahead because technically they have a quicker car.” – he added.

British former racing driver and current Sky Sports F1 commentator Martin Brundle also believes the Maranello team can take that second spot but with two races left, a lot can still happen: “We have still got effectively three races to go so all it needs is a first corner shunt and all bets are off. I would put my money on Ferrari still staying ahead at the end of the year.” – Martin Brundle concluded.
