Enjoy this video of Ferrari’s new Le Mans and WEC 2023 weapon testing at Monza Circuit. The car has yet to receive a name which will probably be unveiled this Sunday during the first official public appearance at this year’s Ferrari World Finals in Imola. Furthermore not many details has been revealed yet too, but as you can hear the engine should be a twin-turbocharged V6 paired with a hybrid system which will likely work similarly to the one of the Peugeot 9X8 or Toyota GR010 one.
As required by the regulation the maximum power of LMH-class cars cannot exceed 680 hp/500 kW in total, so the on-board electronics will manage the power level in all circumstances, using the hybrid “boost” starting from a regulated speed (but adjusted from race to race by the Balance of Performance).
One cool thing of these test was that there wasn’t only one ‘Hypercar’ but two. The track was also shared with a brand new 296 GT3 (strangely in a full matte grey paintjob, rather then a more typical full-carbon or camo testing livery) and a 488 GT3 Evo 2020.
