Autodromo Nazionale Monza has once again received the FIA Three-Star environmental accreditation, with the governing body recognising the strength of the circuit’s environmental management system and its continued commitment to improving sustainability performance.
The recognition comes less than a month before the final major international event of the year at the historic venue, the six-hour Endurance championship race. As the Temple of Speed prepares for that event, the FIA has renewed its highest environmental accreditation following an assessment of the circuit’s work across areas ranging from emissions reduction to biodiversity protection.
Why Monza retained the FIA Three-Star environmental accreditation
The renewal followed a review of documentation submitted by the Autodromo, which highlighted both the robustness of its environmental management system and the strategy adopted to achieve continuous improvements in performance.
According to the FIA assessment, Monza demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainability through a structured system covering objectives, performance monitoring, internal audits and stakeholder engagement.
One particularly significant area is the development of a greenhouse-gas emissions inventory. The circuit’s environmental work also covers energy and fuel use, waste management, sustainable mobility and biodiversity. Those efforts form part of a broader focus on environmental protection around the historic venue, with Monza’s biodiversity initiatives also extending into the surrounding park.
Giuseppe Redaelli welcomes renewed FIA recognition
Autodromo Nazionale Monza president Giuseppe Redaelli described the confirmation of the FIA Three Stars as another recognition of the path the circuit has taken towards increasingly structured and sustainable management of both its activities and the major motorsport events hosted at the Temple of Speed.
The renewed accreditation adds another environmental milestone for one of motorsport’s most historic venues. Readers can also explore Monza’s Formula 1 records and statistics, covering the circuit’s long history of wins, pole positions and landmark performances.
