The feared rain arrived with great intensity during Q3 of the Brazilian GP qualifying: among the consequences of the storm were collapses and roof damage in the stands.
The first attempt in Q3 passes without issues. The rain seems to hold off for a few more minutes, and the sky is still relatively clear. However, the situation changes rapidly: after the first raindrops, darkness falls, and the sky becomes increasingly menacing.
In just a few moments, the sky darkens, the wind picks up, and the rain intensifies. The storm arrives over the São Paulo circuit just as Formula 1 is in the midst of Q3 of the Brazilian GP qualifying.
The weather conditions affect the outcome of the session, which is suspended and immediately concluded. Max Verstappen has secured pole position on the track, ahead of an excellent Charles Leclerc and, surprisingly, ahead of the two Aston Martins on the second row.
Outside the track, the conditions are not very pleasant for the audience. Some images are circulating on social media of stands damaged by the wind. Moreover, the roof of one of the stands collapsed at the final turn, creating a significant risk for the spectators present.
