The president of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, has responded to the criticism received in recent weeks, stating that he is aware of “who attacks him.”
The accusation against Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff for an alleged conflict of interest with his wife Susie has been one of the most talked-about issues that Formula 1 has not been pleased with.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem is responsible for it. It’s no wonder if the relationship between CEO Stefano Domenicali and the president of the FIA is noticeably frosty.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem’s comments
However, the latter doesn’t want to hear about it. On the contrary, according to Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the relationship with the Italian works: “I only ask for sincerity. I don’t care about stock prices or ticket sales. We just need honesty. That’s my mission.” – he pointed out.
At the same time, the Arab entrepreneur indicates that encountering some friction or disagreement is sometimes positive, emphasizing that for him, the interest of Motorsport always comes first.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem then commented on the attacks he received due to his opinions and actions, for example through the media: “I know who attacks me. And they think I don’t know. Do you really think I would be in this position if I had stupid people around me? Of course, my team is very smart.”
“The paddock is a very small habitat; everyone knows everyone. Anyone who leaked or invented something about me, I know. And what do I do? I smile at them. I know who is behind it, and I smile at them,” he added in conclusion.
