The Miami track, built around Hard Rock Stadium, has been on the calendar for only 2 years and has hosted 3 F1 GPs. Over the years, the races held in the stadium’s parking lot have provided entertainment. Entertainment that the organizers want to increase. The goal is to be achieved with the 4 new variants of the circuit that hosts the Miami GP.
The Miami International Autodrome, home of the Miami GP since 2022, has announced significant changes to the track layout. The circuit built in Florida’s capital is currently the third track held in the United States along with Austin and Las Vegas.
A new event that responds to the ever-growing number of fans across the ocean. After 2 years with the “classic” configuration, the organizers have presented 4 new variants to attract other series besides Formula 1. Starting from the base track, the new variants range from a version with 19 turns and 4.5 km, to one of just 2.3 km. All variations were created without closing additional roads around Hard Rock Stadium.
“This is an exciting time to be a motorsport fan here in South Florida,” said Garfinkel, CEO of the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium.
“Our investment in the facility and the construction of the internal loop create five track configurations worthy of the world’s best drivers and allow us to engage with the growing motorsport community of South Florida, while also respecting the impact on local residents and businesses.”
“There’s a thriving car culture here in South Florida, and this investment allows us to better serve this growing group of car enthusiasts, as well as use our campus for more community programming, including educational and career opportunities for local youth and students.”
These changes are not expected to involve F1, which will continue to use the now well-established debut version. The next Miami GP will take place on the first weekend of May.
