The fastest time was set by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who delivered a strong benchmark and put significant gaps to the rest of the field. Max Verstappen finished second, around three tenths behind, while Oscar Piastri was third, more than four tenths off the pace. It was a clear sign of how quickly the Monegasque adapted to the Florida circuit, especially considering his teammate Lewis Hamilton finished fourth, 467 milliseconds adrift.
Missing from this top four is the team that dominated the first three races of the season: Mercedes. The Silver Arrows struggled throughout the session, with championship leader Kimi Antonelli finishing fifth, more than seven tenths off Leclerc, while George Russell followed in sixth.
The Italian also suffered technical issues with his W17, forcing him to end the session slightly early. Completing the top ten were reigning world champion Lando Norris—who appeared well off teammate Oscar Piastri’s pace for now—Pierre Gasly, Isack Hadjar and Carlos Sainz.
Tonight at 22:30 local time, things will get serious with Sprint Qualifying.
