Australia awaits Formula 1
The increasingly likely absence of Daniel Ricciardo from the starting grid for the upcoming F1 season has not discouraged Australian fans from rushing to buy tickets for the next Grand Prix in Melbourne. Contributing to this surge in interest is the growing global fascination with Formula 1; the 2024 edition already set a new attendance record, with 452,055 spectators over the weekend. This figure is set to be surpassed next season when the capacity will be increased by a few thousand seats.
Melbourne F1, sold out
Perhaps it’s due to the fact that the competition is becoming more open after two years of Red Bull dominance, the historic debut of Lewis Hamilton with Ferrari, the confirmation on the track of two local young talents like Oscar Piastri and rookie Alpine Jack Doohan, and maybe even the likely presence, who knows – perhaps alongside Max Verstappen? – of New Zealander Liam Lawson. One thing is certain: tickets for the next GP in Australia have been flying off the shelves, with Saturday and Sunday sold out in less than an hour, according to reports from organizers and journalists from the local site SpeedCafe.
Just hours after the virtual ticket sales opened on the Ticketmaster portal, which had postponed the start of ticket sales from Tuesday to Thursday due to a technical issue, only tickets for Thursday and Friday remain. The organizers of the race at Albert Park are heavily focused on the first day of the weekend to surpass the 2024 record, as there will be track activities for some local support categories such as Supercars and Porsche Carrera Cup Australia. In 2025, the Grand Prix in Melbourne will return to open the F1 World Championship on the weekend of March 16, and, as in recent seasons, it will also feature the junior series Formula 2 and Formula 3.
You can register here in case other tickets for the 2025 F1 Australian GP become available.
