Max Verstappen visited Milton Keynes ahead of the holiday break, and during his address to the team he highlighted the huge effort made by everyone working at Red Bull’s headquarters. The four-time World Champion stood firmly by his team after a season in which Red Bull rediscovered its form in the second half of the year, taking six victories from the final ten races and ending the championship with eight wins overall – effectively securing a victory in one out of every three Grands Prix.
“Of course it hurts to lose by just two points,” the Dutch driver said. “But you should be proud of the fact that within the same season we managed to overcome very difficult moments and come back to winning. There are others who need two years, or even twenty, to achieve that.”
His words served both as praise for his own team and as a thinly veiled jab at their rivals. Mercedes went winless in 2023, while Ferrari has not captured a World Championship title since 2008 – a point Max Verstappen clearly hinted at while commending Red Bull’s rapid return to competitiveness.
Ferrari and Mercedes have been warned – Max Verstappen and Red Bull are already hungry for revenge.
