Team principal of the Scuderia Ferrari, Maurizio Arrivabene, was inevitably very happy at the end of the 2017 Bahrain Grand Prix, after Sebastian Vettel managed to score another win and the Managing Director of the Gestione Sportiva wanted to praise everyone within the Maranello team for the second victory in three races from the 2017 Formula 1 season.
Maurizio Arrivabene said that the win at the Bahrain International Circuit was made possible thanks to the “courage” and “determination” of the team, coupled with a little bit of “madness”, which are all part of the DNA of the legendary Italian F1 team: “Today’s victory was an important one, achieved thanks to the great efforts of all the guys at the track and back in Maranello. For the whole weekend, the guys demonstrated courage, determination and a little bit of madness. This is all part of our DNA, characteristics which 70 years ago saw the birth of Ferrari. Courage and determination were needed to tackle a weekend like this, in which we expected to encounter a few difficulties in qualifying, which is why, based on good long run data on Friday, we prepared as well as possible for the race. In order to do this you also need to use some madness.” – Maurizio Arrivabene added, as reported by f1grandprix.it.
Ferrari team boss was delighted with the fact that the SF70H confirmed the positive impressions from the start of the season and was again very strong, this time in Sakhir, which gave the Maranello side the possibility to choose the best strategy call for Sebastian Vettel: the undercut of Mercedes lead to a new perfect weekend for Scuderia Ferrari, despite the fact team-mate Kimi Raikkonen missed the podium and finished fourth due to a poor start from the grid: “Sebastian drove a really great race, demonstrating once again all his class. Kimi was caught up in traffic at the start and then he certainly wasn’t helped by the arrival of the Safety Car. The SF70H proved itself to be strong also in these conditions, at a track which requires above all power and good traction. The tyres worked very well, which allowed us to fully exploit our very good strategy.” – Maurizio Arrivabene concluded.
