These are the words of Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto in an interview for Sky Sport F1 at the end of the 2021 Brazilian Grand Prix. The Ferrari boss was asked about the accusations of Toto Wolff who, before the start, stated that “There are irregular cars on the track”.

Toto Wolff probably referred to the rear wing change allowed on Max Verstappen’s Red Bull for safety reasons. Several images, in fact, have immortalized the DRS of Red Bull #33 which did not work perfectly at times in Qualifying, opening too much due to a malfunction that often also damaged the Dutchman as happened in his home race in Holland when he could not count on the ‘mobile wing in the final of the decisive lap, taking pole position for a few thousandths as compared to Hamilton’s time. Furthermore, before the race, Adrian Newey once again went to talk with the Federation: the technical director of Red Bull is probably not convinced of the flexibility of the rear aerodynamic elements fitted by Mercedes. Hamilton’s car yesterday at the end of the Sprint Qualifying was checked and judged to be regular, as was Verstappen’s car.
