Market shock for Ferrari: three teams chase Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton left without proposals. Ferrari faces a turbulent moment ahead of F1 2026.

A fresh rumour is circulating in the Formula 1 paddock, and it is causing quite a stir inside Ferrari, a team already shaken by months of difficulties. According to the latest reports, Lewis Hamilton has ended up with no concrete proposals for his future, while Charles Leclerc has attracted the interest of three teams. The situation could lead to major shockwaves.

There seems to be no calm in Maranello. As soon as the 2025 Formula 1 season ended, both Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc found themselves at the center of new speculation about their next moves.

According to the Italian website Autoracer, Lewis Hamilton has received no offers following a season described as nothing short of disastrous. The scenario appears completely different for Charles Leclerc: the Monegasque driver reportedly has no fewer than three teams that have already put forward their interest.

The offers arrive after a challenging year for Ferrari, where the SF-25 proved unable to consistently fight at the front. McLaren and Red Bull divided ambitions and results between them, leaving the Scuderia struggling to keep up. With next year’s regulatory overhaul approaching, F1 is entering a crucial transition phase. For this reason, contract clauses now carry much more weight, especially for two top-profile names like the Ferrari pair.

Inside the red garage, the atmosphere has been far from simple. Charles Leclerc demonstrated raw speed but also the frustration of a driver who feels time slipping away. Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, never managed to adapt to the Venturi technology, a key factor that shaped his first season in Ferrari red. With the arrival of the new cars featuring reduced aerodynamic sensitivity, Maranello hopes to reset its difficulties. But the driver market is watching closely, especially with 2026 getting nearer.

“Now or never”: voices from the Ferrari garage

When it comes to Charles Leclerc, the Monegasque has not hidden his need for a technical breakthrough. “It’s now or never. Next season has to go well, and after the tyre test we’ll return to Maranello to reorganize,” he said. His words reflect the growing anticipation surrounding the new Ferrari, designed around more mechanical than aerodynamic principles.

Lewis Hamilton, by contrast, has chosen to maintain media silence until January, following months of constant adaptation issues. “The whole season has been filled with unbearable frustration,” he admitted when referring to his qualifying struggles. The British driver has never hidden that he does not enjoy Venturi-style cars, which he considers too stiff and too distant from the sensations he preferred in past seasons.

On the contract front, the situation is straightforward: Ferrari holds an option on Lewis Hamilton for 2027, but the driver does not have a reciprocal clause. Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, can evaluate alternatives already after the first races of next year. And suitors are certainly not lacking. The names remain undisclosed for now, but at least three teams are keeping a close eye on the Monegasque while the paddock waits to see whether the new Ferrari will finally match expectations.

Maranello’s priority is crystal clear: deliver a front-running car in 2026 or risk losing one of the most talented driver pairings ever assembled. For now the clock is ticking louder than ever inside the most famous garage in motorsport.
