A 39-year-old man accused of entering the Singapore Grand Prix without a valid ticket and later accessing a restricted area could face a prison sentence in Singapore, according to local media reports and court documents. The incident is alleged to have taken place during the 2026 Formula 1 weekend at Marina Bay.
Daver Arish Adil, an Indian national, is accused of entering the circuit at Gate 2 on Temasek Avenue at around 1:45pm on 9 October despite not having a valid ticket for that day. He is also accused of a second trespassing offence at around 2:00pm, when he allegedly entered an area known as “the wharf” on Raffles Boulevard that was accessible only to Singapore Grand Prix personnel.
Man accused of entering Singapore GP restricted areas
Another man was reportedly refused entry at the gate after his ticket was found to be invalid. Daver Arish Adil, however, allegedly managed to enter the event area before also gaining access to a zone reserved for Singapore Grand Prix staff and performing artists. He was spotted shortly afterwards and arrested by police.
The incident took place during the Singapore round of the 2026 Formula 1 calendar, with Marina Bay hosting one of the championship’s night races. Readers can also explore the venue’s wider Formula 1 history through the ScuderiaFans F1 Circuit Records & Statistics section.
Previous Singapore Grand Prix trespassing case ended in jail
This is not the first case in which someone has managed to evade security at Singapore’s Formula 1 event. In December 2025, a Swedish national, who was 23 at the time, was sentenced to four weeks in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of trespassing.
In that case, a 17-year-old volunteer allowed him to enter despite the fact that he did not have a ticket for the event. The teenager helped him get into the area out of sympathy, but the man later tampered with a lock and entered the exclusive Paddock Club. He also managed to gain access to the pit-lane area before being discovered shortly afterwards.
Singapore trespassing charges can carry prison sentence
In Singapore, each trespassing charge can result in a prison sentence of up to three months, a fine of up to $1,500, or both. The case involving Daver Arish Adil is due to be heard in court on 16 October.
