Windows tinting is the best way to enhance your vehicle look. Tinting windows provide the following advantages.
- Privacy because passing by person cannot easily see you in the car.
- It also gives protection from UV rays that may heat or fade your car interior.
- It gives gleaming look from outside.
Sometimes you don’t have to go by yourself for windows tinting because some car window comes tinted from the factory or if you have bought an old car maybe it’s already been tinted by the film.
To ensure that your windows look at their best and are well maintained, follow these rules below.
Rules for Newly Installed Tint you should remember:
Do not lower your windows for 72 hours or 3 days! Installing your tint includes a soap and water solution to help with the requisite minute adjustments to achieve perfect finishing and tint shape.
In addition, the solution is needed to thoroughly clean the current window before deployment. It leaves the current window in wet condition until installation.
Since all window tints have an adhesive backrest, the release liner must be removed precisely to prevent the tint from unevenly sticking to other pieces. This adhesive backrest is a powerful adhesive that helps it to easily stick and set, usually within minutes.
Applying a soap and water solution increases the adhesive setting time so you can have more margin for applying the tint.
Once the tint has been set correctly (no air pockets, bubbles, and minute changes needed), allow it to sit for 72 hours or 3 days without disturbing it. During the setting time, lowering your windows will move your tint film, and may risk the integrity of your tint film.
It may also enable you to reinstall an irritation, so avoid moving your tint for 3 days to allow proper drying of the solution and adhesive.
Don’t clean your window
After window tinting doesn’t try to open it or to clean it for 72 hours or 3 days, if you do so you’ll be seeing imbalance tint. Even if you see some spots or line of streaks on the window don’t clean it goanna ruined your window tinting.
If you try to clean your tint in setting time, it will move your tint and will void your tint warranty. Ammonia is not good for the window in cleaning purposes you can use vinegar and water solution to clean your window with a cloth of microfibers.
Do’s and Don’ts of Window Tint Maintenance
Do’s: Wash the tinted windows daily. Tinted windows should be cleaned regularly, usually once every two weeks or as part of your car wash schedule.
Doing this will help to reduce soil build-up, if left untreated, it is difficult to remove this build-up.
It can harden like a rock that might need vigorous scrubbing to be finished. This may also leave the window with bumps unless you use a microfiber cover. This is why you should clean your fiber window daily.
Use microfiber cloth
No doubt your tinted windows are protected with scratch resistance but you should still care because it is not that reliable. Using any low-quality cloth or just an ordinary rag cloth will cause scratches on your window.
Avoid direct sunlight after cleaning
If left to dry under direct sunlight the window will dry unevenly. Many sections exposed to the sun will dry quicker while parts under the shade will dry slower, and thus dry unevenly.
Uneven drying of soapy water or a cleaning solution can cause permanent streaks of lines and white stains.
Such marks would require additional washing, taking a portion of your time, hence double treatment. Try cleaning the windows under a canopy or doing so indoors.
If you have no spot indoors or no other way of washing under the rain, the only downside is having to scrub your windows a second time due to the presence of lines and white stains on your first shower.
Don’ts:
Don’t use ammonia-based cleaners
Cleaners that are of ammonia-based are not good for tint films on your window. If you’ll use ammonia-based cleaners on your tint film it will lead to premature peel of tint film or may make your film look so bad you’ll remove it on your own. So instead of changing of tint sheet due to ammonia-based cleaner you should use a solution of soap water and keep safe the corners.
Don’t wash the edges like brushing the whole tinted film frame. Be careful when cleaning the borders, as the film in this part is most pelvic and vulnerable. For example, if thorough cleanup is necessary, the area can be cleaned carefully with a soft towel, ideally with a microfiber towel.
Steps to Clean
Due to the fact that windows are covered with thin plastic glass, incompatible chemicals will damage the windows. To securely clean your windows, you can use a completely natural cleaning process.
This technique is suitable for heavily soiled or streaked tinted windows and for regular maintenance.
Things Required
- Spray water bottle
- Microfiber cloth or paper towel
Phase 1: Mist your car window. Sprinkle the soap water from the spray bottle.
The trick is only achieved by a light mist on the screen.
Phase 2: Wipe off the window. Wipe your window screen with a paper towel or your microfiber.
Wipe the entire surface vertically, then dissipate all the droplets and lines of the glass, in a horizontal way.
Phase 3: Stick or soil test. Because you don’t use a cleaner, you focus on the tissue to collect dust.
If strings are still there, repeat the process but dry the window using a fresh side of the towel.
Repeat as necessary to completely clean your glass.
Phase 4: Hand cleaning the rolled-down part of glass Roll down the window.
Down a few inches of your window and wipe the top edge of the window path.
If you’re not cleaning this edge, every time the window is rolling you will have an unexpected dirt line.
Phase 5: Do all the above steps for all the windows.
Phase 6: Close the windows from inside. Clean the interior of the windows once all the windows from outside are cleaned up.
