In an interview with Autosprint, current executive coach, emotional speaker and testimonial Luigi Mazzola, who worked for Scuderia Ferrari, shared an anecdote about the current Team Principal of McLaren, Andrea Stella, dating back to when he worked for the Maranello team.
Luigi Mazzola: “Andrea is a guy I personally hired and developed”
“Andrea is a guy I personally hired at Ferrari, and in a way, I developed him,” Luigi Mazzola said in his interview for the Autosprint magazine on the sidelines of the British Grand Prix, which was held last weekend at the Silverstone circuit, where McLaren had an impressive performance, up to the point of challenging Red Bull for the race win and securing a podium finish with Lando Norris.
“I consider him ‘my’ guy,” adds the Italian technician, who then reveals, “I remember he was stunned during our first conversation because I didn’t ask him technical questions. I wanted to see if the person had the passion and energy to do such a challenging job, and I was favorably impressed. So, I decided to bet on him, and the results proved me right.” – the former Ferrari engineer.
Finally, Luigi Mazzola concludes by saying: “Andrea Stella is an extraordinarily intelligent guy, highly prepared, and has had an exciting career. I experienced his great weekend at Silverstone as if I were by his side.” – he concluded.
