The Las Vegas GP F1 Qualifying is underway, with Ferrari targeting pole position in Nevada. Follow the Live Coverage and watchalong in the video below as things are getting serious in Sin City: after Friday’s practice sessions, which gave a preview of the potential performances over the weekend, it’s time to set the starting grid. It promises to be a fierce battle between the two Ferraris, the McLarens, and the Mercedes.
The Las Vegas round is heating up. Only three races remain in the championship, including the Sprint Race scheduled in Qatar. These three Grands Prix will determine the Drivers’ World Champion – Max Verstappen will have to contend with Red Bull’s rear wing issues in Nevada – as well as the Constructors’ Champion. In the latter standings, a two-way fight between McLaren and Ferrari is expected.
The Woking team is the favorite, at least on paper: the MCL38 has proven to be highly competitive under various conditions, and it has perhaps only been the team’s relative inexperience – still very young – that has slowed their progress. While they may struggle with the SF-24’s speed in Las Vegas, from Qatar onward, the Papaya duo is expected to be strong favorites again.
For Ferrari, Sin City offers the perfect opportunity to secure the maximum points available. Closing the gap to McLaren will be crucial for the race, while aiming to minimize damage in Losail and keep the championship alive until Abu Dhabi. Friday delivered mixed signals, but the pre-race optimism remains intact, and the chances of success are still realistic.
