The Sprint Race in Brazil is about to begin — follow our live coverage for all the latest updates from Interlagos. The weekend continues at the historic circuit where McLaren has so far shown dominant form. In qualifying, it was Lando Norris who came out on top and will start from pole position ahead of Kimi Antonelli. The starting grid includes several surprises compared to recent races, such as Lewis Hamilton being knocked out in Q2 and Max Verstappen lining up only sixth. These conditions could set the stage for an eventful race, so stay tuned to our live coverage of the Brazilian Sprint to see how it unfolds.
It has not been the best start to the weekend for Max Verstappen, who arrived in Brazil trailing Lando Norris by 36 points in the championship standings. During the media day, the Dutch driver had emphasized how important it would be to seize every opportunity, noting that the Sprint format at Interlagos could play to his advantage. However, things have not gone according to plan so far. During qualifying, Max Verstappen struggled to find the right balance with his car, preventing him from doing better than sixth place on the grid.
Meanwhile, Lando Norris can afford a smile, as he might have found unexpected allies in Brazil — the two Mercedes drivers. His main goal is to extend his lead in the standings over his McLaren teammate. With Kimi Antonelli starting between the two papaya cars, and George Russell ready to launch an attack on Oscar Piastri, Norris could receive a significant boost in his fight for the title.
Ferrari, on the other hand, has taken a step back. Charles Leclerc arrived in Brazil after scoring two consecutive podium finishes, but qualifying has not placed him in an ideal position to secure a third. On the other side of the garage, Lewis Hamilton seemed to have regained some performance over the last few weekends, yet at Interlagos he once again found himself eliminated in Q2.
